Our expertise
Dear friends, dear visitors, welcome to Lysias Partners,
At Lysias Partners, we are a team of lawyers and legal advisors whose range of expertise covers every branch of the law, even though we do have particular fields of interest such as environment and climate change, public policy and institutions, company law, communications, media and technology.
All members of the firm have their own area of specialisation; but we know from experience that very few cases can be limited to a single range of expertise. Today’s legal advisor must know how to cross-fertilize different fields of knowledge. We consider, for instance, that working on penal briefs also implies researching and analysing criminal policies.
Therefore, we insist on our lawyers going beyond their advisory capacity by also pleading at the bar. Far from inducing a loss of focus, our approach takes into account the increasingly composite nature of each case and fosters a wider scope of curiosity, in the Renaissance sense of the word.
The majority of our twelve-strong legal team are qualified Doctors of Law, Senior Faculty Lecturers in Law; others come from major Business Schools.
Lysias Partners is based in Paris and Marseilles; a future branch in Montpellier (South West of France) is currently being considered.
Our firm has extended its expertise and services internationally, particularly on the Africa Continent in cases of territorial litigation filed before the International Court of Human Rights in The Hague and in cases involving oilfield operations in African States.
At Lysias we do not intend to restrict ourselves, in mind or matter, to the standard fields of law: some of us take part in humanitarian missions or act as legal and Human Rights observers for NGOs or the UN.
We are involved in a course of legal studies for final year pupils in an underprivileged suburb of Paris – namely at the Alfred Nobel Secondary School in Clichy-sous-Bois. Some of us were also co-authors of a Human Rights Guide for Catholic
Within the limits of our possibilities, we strive, in training our young lawyers as well as in our own briefs, to involve ourselves in public and social matters. We are convinced that when circumstances demand it, our professional ethics should lead us to personal commitment.
